Europe day

Did you know that on 9 May 1950 the first move was made towards the creation of what is now known as the European Union??
In Paris that day, against the background of the threat of a Third World War engulfing the whole of Europe, the French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman read to the international press a declaration calling France, Germany and other European countries to pool together their coal and steel production as "the first concrete foundation of a European federation".
From that moment till the XXI European Union, a lot of efforts have been made. So let's celebrate we are together!

This is 2011 official poster:

"Tack för valkomnandemig" Félix

Pedro

"Pedro" is a very easy song that our students will teach to their guests. Here they sing it in order to help you learn it. Try not to get confused!
¡¡Pedro!!

In a hut, down the Black Forest
A cowboy lived, called Pedro
What was his name? Pedro
He had a horse, who slept in a stable
While he was having so happily a tea
What was he having? A tea
What was his name? Pedro
But there was an indian who was very clever
He went into the stable and stole his horse
What did he steal? His horse
What was he having? A tea
What was his name? Pedro

Activity booklet

We have prepared an activity booklet for our students. Here they have a program of the whole week of the meeting in Spain, the distribution into two buses, three "school-made" guides of Caceres, Merida and Seville and some questions about their final impressions. And we are sure they will remember this week every time they have a look at this booklet.

Mar 17, 2011

Last meeting with parents

Yesterday evening we had another meeting with parents to talk about the last details of the program. They are very excited about the visit of our partners. And worried about the communication with their guests. That's why we also gave them a short lesson of English to survive that will be useful for sure!

Mar 15, 2011

Spanish to survive

During our meeting in Hornachos we'll have a Spanish lesson. Our partners will have the chance to learn basic sentences to introduce themselves, to go shopping or to eat in a restaurant. It's Spanish to survive!

Mar 14, 2011

Two groups for buses and visits

With Japan

Two weeks to go!!

Just two weeks for the visit of our partners to Spain. That will be 27th March, when daylight saving time starts. At two o'clock we'll move clocks forward by one hour. Let's hope nobody will be confused with clock changes. Here you have a nice page where you can learn why, when, how this daylight saving time or summer time began and some really interesting anecdotes about countries where it was observed only in certain areas.

Mar 12, 2011

Churros and croquetas on "The Guardian"

Today on the online British newspaper "The Guardian" there is an article talking about "churros", "croquetas" and "chorizo". During the visit of our partners they will have the chance to try them. Mar 3, 2011

Questionnaire

These are the results of the questionnaire proposed by our project. If you see the four sheets you will learn about the habits of the 85 students we have asked, together with their parents. We have drawn some conclusions: Parents and children have similar habits and they share similar likes. Music, sport and meeting friends are among our students' favourites (more than surfing the net) and watching TV is the activity chosen by parents. Besides, we see two important points to highlight: Parents,in general, don't speak any foreign language and a surprising 82% of mothers are housewives.

Feb 5, 2011

Our recipe books are here!!!!
